The History of Compleat Zen Boydism

First, let me explain the history of Zen Boydism. Long, long ago at the Middle-Age Crazy thread at theonering.com and before I ever even heard of bb.net, I was a member of the Middle Age Crazy Guild. It was there I first pointed out his philtrum. I have witnesses. It was also there I coined the term "Zen Boydism". It was a play on the term "Zen Bhuddism". Later I found others were using the term Boydism and was delighted! I don't care who coined the term Boydism, but I do claim the term "Zen Boydism". I want to model this after The Compleat Sean Bean, and yes, the title of this site is a tip of the hat to those who created/run that site. It's one of the best fan sites ever, and I highly recommend it. Plus, I also loved The Compleat Beatles, and Billy is a huge Beatles fan, as am I, and so, The Compleat Zen Boydist! On this site I'll include everything about our beloved Billy Boyd I can find the time to include, including photos, a biography, an annotated list of films, breaking news, and more. You can help! Send Billy linkage to stories and photos... or anything else that's all Billy. Sooner or later I hope to improve this site and maybe... if the fates and the generosity of others allow, set up a dot com so as to make this site as impressive as any high quality fan site. So check back often! Suggest improvements! Tell me how you became a fan and why you love Billy. Advice, too, is welcome. The guestbook awaits... So let's make this a place Billy would be proud of!

I became a Billy Boyd admirer the moment I saw those bright green eyes shining from that sooty face in the Lord of the Rings. Then I joined the now defunct forum at billyboyd.net. I had just lost one of my best friends. I'll call her Ruby, aka The Alleged Woman. Don't ask. Okay, Billy can ask if I ever meet him. Anyway, I felt pretty down about Ruby's passing away. She was only thirty-seven. She had golden blonde hair and green eyes, was quite gorgeous, with a wicked sense of humor and a great deal of talent and imagination. The people I met there helped me through that. And a funny thing happened along the way. The more I learned about Billy Boyd, the more I admired him. I loved him for his kind heart and his wit, and especially for his character: tough, tempered with gentleness. Men like that are rare. I should know, my father was one and so is my husband. Billy also knows the value of perserverance. He knows that having a dream is good, but balance that out with common sense. He knows that those who fail to plan, plan to fail. He loves his family, and that's something else I admire. He's kind to children and the elderly and loves dogs. He's funny, sweet, (with a wee bit of salt)patriotic, talented and very handsome. He believes in being happy in the moment. He knows that yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift: that's why we call it the present. He seems to inspire others as well. I know personally of many, many people who have gone on to persue dreams once thought lost because of his example. One is a nurse who went back to school so she could become a doctor. My friend Pearl Took took up fencing, and can weild her saber now in either hand quite proficiently. I have taken up writing. I know one young lady who took up acting and actually got into the same school Billy went to! She is now actually working as an actress. There are many, many more stories just like these. So, Mr. Boyd, let me thank you from all of us. You are our inspirational angel.

DISCLAIMER: I wish I could say I know Billy. Sadly, I don't. Not even a little bit. Also, you should know the standard disclaimer by now, so I'll put it in my own, far more colorful vernacular: The sayin's and notions on this site are the sayin's and notions of the gal that takes care of this place and they ain't got nothin' whatsoever to do with Mr. Boyd or his official website. It's all my doin'. But I'd probably buy a used car from the dude that runs Billy's site. He's a pretty good dude.
